People are starting to say that feminism is a trend in 2018, as if it was a bad thing. Crocks are a bad trend, botox is a bad trend, socks and sandals are a bad trend —and, yes, it’s coming back so let’s fight it all together. Although I could dig deeper into the surge of german fashion, today I am talking about feminism. Some languages are more up-to-date than others. Take Arabic, for instance, there is no exact word for « sandwich ». It’s mind blowing, I know. Even though english has a vast choice of words to describe a piece of bread sliced in half, it is still an outdated language in many ways. Like many languages, English is one made by men for men. How do you fight a lion with a wooden stick and how do you fight sexism with a sexist language?
